It's very easy to set up. All you've got to do is connect the microphone then pop in one of the bundled karaoke discs that come with it. You get chart hits to take you to the top of the charts. Okay perhaps a little bit cheesy but what the heck it's all about the fun right?
The biggest draw back is the lack of the queue that lets you know when the screen lyrics are going to start. Annoying but certainly not the end of the world. You do get use to it quickly. And the rest of the features are great.
Just a turn of the dial and you can adjust the key 15 settings. That means there isn't too many voices that can't be tuned in. Just stay clear of the really high and the really low settings. Those can hurt the ears.

The machine can function as a regular DVD but it is pretty basic. Nothing fancy in quality but it does the job. Of course it also plays DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW, CD, SVCD, MP3 Cd, and VCD. It's a nice well rounded piece of equipment.
It comes bundled with 3 karaoke DVD connections, 1 Scart, 1 S-Video, 1 component video, 1 composite video, 1 stereo analogue out, 1 5.1 analogue out, 1 optical digital out, and 1 coaxial audio out. But it doesn't come with a mic which is a rather strange piece to omit since it's a requirement.
The Pro 8 is a good home entertainment unit that's going to provide you with plenty of hours of laughs and a whole lot of fun with your friends. Even if you have no intention to compete at the next American Idol this system is affordable fun. Whether you are the best or worst singer on the planet karaoke is about fun and this system is going to provide you with hours of it.
