Video Cam Karaoke home

Setting Up Your Video Cam Karaoke Home Player

Setting up your video cam karaoke home player should be as easy as one, two, three. There shouldn't be anything complicated. Just a few connections and you should be ready to start singing your heart out. Follow these easy steps.

1. If your unit is new start by uncrating all the components. Make sure all bits and pieces are there and set your manual and warranty to the side. Don't forget to send the warranty card in. Many companies will allow you to fill it in online a nice convenience.
2. After all the components are unpacked check to make certain all your volume levels are set to 0 and all power switches on your karaoke player, stereo, and television are all off.
3. Sit down and read the manual to make sure you have all the correct leads and connections. You'll most likely need a video lead and a scart lead. You'll also need jack leads so you can connect the audio out.
4. Set the karaoke player on a flat surface that's some distance from the stereo and television to make sure you don't have interference.
5. Make sure that the ventilation isn't restricted in any way. It's a common mistake to cover the equipment, set it on the carpet, or push it too close to the wall so that the ventilation is blocked. This will cause your equipment to overheat so be careful.
6. Connect all your cables. The video lead needs to connect to the video out on you're the player and the video in on the television. Hook up your jack leads from the audio out on the player to the audio in on your amp or stereo.
7. Your speakers should already be connected to your stereo unit. But if you are running a box package then you'll need to connect them on the player itself.
8. Connect your microphone on the mic in jack which is usually found at the front of the karaoke player.
9. Connect your video cam.
10. Make sure your voltage is right for your unit. Once you've got everything plugged in you can turn the power on.
11. Turn the player and the mic volume up just a bit then turn up the volume on your other components.
12. Put your CDG disk into the player and play. Make sure the television is on the right channel. You should see the words appearing on the screen. That's it you're ready to sing.

You can run the setup through any size television but if it's a bigger room and you want everyone to get a good view bigger is better. Your video cam images can be projected to one or more televisions. In a club or bar set up there can be several TV's which means everyone can see the karaoke performance. At home you'll likely only have one television.

Karaoke is growing by leaps and bounds thanks to shows like American Idol which have more of us wondering if we could make it in a singing career. After all perhaps we really are the next Cheer or the next Steve Wonder. And even if we aren't it's a lot of fun pretending just for awhile and it's a great way to spend an evening with friends.
